Douglas Connor, Chairman, Legion International Limited

Douglas has been an entrepreneur in science, technology and finance for most of his career. In the 1970s he created two high-technology businesses in the UK in the fields of defence, avionics, telecommunications and computing. In 1997, Douglas formed Legion International Limited to develop the science on which Legion is now built. He has been the Chairman of Legion International Limited ever since.

David James, Director, Commercial and Global Operations

David joined Legion in 2005, bringing 20 years of corporate and operational management experience to the company. His role covers the commercial and sales operations of the Legion group, along with responsibility for the worldwide delivery of Legion products and services.

Before joining Legion, David was Head of Finance and Operational Management for the European subsidiary of a US telecoms multinational. While there he supported the President (Europe) and the Parent company gain IPO status. Before that he was Financial Director of a UK R&D company within the music equipment manufacturing industry and during a crucial year he led the company through a management restructure. He has managed successful sales teams within diverse industries, including financial services, catering equipment provision, and business-to-business software.

At Legion, assisted by specialist consultants, David oversees the delivery of products and services, helping to deliver Legion's expertise worldwide. Additionally, David manages the commercial and sales operations of the Legion group.

James Amos, Head of Product Development

James has been with Legion since October 2002. He has many years' experience of specifying, designing and developing complex commercial software. Before Legion, James worked in finance and then defence, where he developed military simulation software for DERA (Defence Evaluation and Research Agency). He has extensive experience of stringent development standards and brings to Legion a comprehensive knowledge of product development procedures. James has a BSc in Computer Science from the University of East Anglia.

Mark Eady, Product Implementation Manager and Senior Consultant

Mark graduated from the Oxford Brookes Department of Architecture in 1988 with BA (Hons) Arch. and Dip.Arch. qualifications. He completed his professional practice a year later and is a registered UK architect. In 1991 he left the UK to work on prestigious mass transit projects in South-East Asia and by 1996 had established himself as an acknowledged specialist in metro station design.  He has applied station design and Fire Life Safety expertise as part of ground-breaking metro system projects in India, Thailand and Taiwan.

Convinced of the benefits of simulation in understanding complex pedestrian environments, Mark joined Legion Limited in 2004. Since then he has built and managed the Legion Modelling Services team, delivering direct consulting projects to a wide spectrum of clients across infrastructure sectors. His skills and experience form a bridge between the consulting and product development arms of Legion. In this he is able to understand both sides of the process: feeding back customer needs and insights to Legion while helping customers get the best results from Legion software and projects.

Frederick Frank, Senior Consultant

Frederick has 13 years’ experience of delivering Legion technology, services and training solutions to public and private clients in the air, metro, rail and sports sectors around the world.  Prior to joining Legion, he worked for Tractebel EGI (now part of Suez) in the UAE. He has a BSc in Information Management from UCL.
