Aimsun 6.0.1 Released: Legion and Aimsun Get Closer
September 2008
TSS have just announced the release of Aimsun 6.0.1, which represents a significant step towards complete integration between their traffic simulation software and Legion's pedestrian simulation software.
The new release includes improved interaction between vehicles and pedestrians. The results of Legion simulations can be loaded into Aimsun; this way, Legion pedestrians are included in Aimsun simulations as externally controlled objects. These pedestrians are granted priority and a gap acceptance model is applied at crossings, ensuring that vehicles react to pedestrians.
Whether a crossing is signalised or not, Aimsun now takes the crossing times and positions of pedestrians into account when determining when vehicles can safely proceed with their journeys. This means more accurate simulations, more realistic results and more convincing visuals.
